PAINTINGS ON LACE AND TEXTILE
My painting practice explores women’s visibility and concealment through work painted on repurposed lace curtains. Associated with domestic space and traditional female labor, lace functions both as a painting surface and a metaphorical veil.
Recent works move beyond the stretched canvas, with painted lace hanging freely or layered with quilt fragments, stitching, and embellishment. These shifts reflect an ongoing movement in my practice—from containment toward openness, and from control toward freedom.
