COMMISSIONS

I create a limited number of commissioned portraits each year as an extension of my studio practice. Each painting is developed from photographs and conversation, then interpreted through the layered lace and painted surfaces that characterize my work.

Commissions may begin with a current photograph or a treasured family image. I’ll work with you to select a reference that will translate beautifully into a painting and to determine the size, palette, and overall direction of the piece.

How the Commission Process Works

1. Conversation
We begin by talking about the person you’d like me to paint, your reference photographs, preferred size, colors, and where the finished work will live.

2. Agreement
Once we’ve settled on the direction, I provide a simple agreement outlining the size, timeline, and cost. A signed agreement and 50% deposit reserve your place on my schedule.

3. Creating Your Painting
I select the materials and create the piece in my studio. Most commissions take approximately 8–12 weeks to complete. Finished work can be shipped or picked up.

4. Cost
Commissioned paintings begin at $7,000, with final pricing based on size and complexity.
